• How to Request Advice

The process for securing advice is very simple and we can be flexible in how we work with you.  In the first instance, please discuss your request with the Clinical Senate Council Chair, Chris Welsh - chris.welsh@nhs.net - or the Senate Manager, Jeanette Unwin - jeanette.unwin1@nhs.net

We welcome requests for advice from any commissioner or provider of health or social care.  You can approach the Senate for advice at any point in the development of your proposals and we can work with you at several points as your proposals develop.

Our main role is in providing advice to you as a clinical critical friend.  We also have a formal role in the NHS England assurance process in reviewing service change proposals against the clinical evidence base key test.

The Senate has set out a process to guide those organisations who would like to seek our advice.

This also includes a template for completion which helps us to understand your requirements.

We have also put together a list of suggested information that our clinical panel will need to be able to assess the proposals.  This is just a guide and will not be applicable to all reviews.
